+ Set-Up and Take-Down
Required for Thursday, August 15, Friday, August 16 and Monday, August 19
This is one of the most important volunteer positions with the Ribfest. Volunteers will assist with setting up the grounds in preparation for the weekend, including setting up tents, tables, chairs and signage. Must be capable of repetitively lifting and carrying 50lb, walking all day, having some construction/building skills would be an asset. Steel toed boots and work gloves are suggested. Minimum age requirement is 15 years old.
+ Recycling, Clean Up and VIBE Team
Turns out – volunteers report that being part of the VIBE Team is one of the best jobs on site!! Ribfest is proud to commit to making our event “Green” by providing recyclable and compostable food and drink items. Recycling stations will be provided for sorting and ensuring proper disposal. Volunteers walk the site and maintain the cleanliness of the grounds, bus tables and sort all recyclables. This is a great opportunity to interact with visitors and do something great for our environment. Minimum age requirement is 15 years old.
Help ensure a smooth safe flow of traffic, bikes, and pedestrians in and out of the parking areas – happy people make for a happy event! Provide directions to the Ribfest entrance and assist as required. Minimum age requirement is 15 years old. Patience and assertiveness are an asset. Standing and sitting for extended periods of time and a hi-vis vest is suggested.
+ Food Service
Food Service includes Food Preparation and Food Service. Duties include preparing food like shucking corn and servicing food and beverage to customers. Minimum age requirement is 15 years old. Enjoy working in a fast past, team environment.
+ Beverage (Alcohol) Service
Beverage service included Beverage Pourers and Beverage Servers. Beverage Servers require to provide a copy of their Serving it Right certificate. Must be 19+ to work in this area.
Cashiers are required to sell liquor, beverage and food tickets - make change, process interact and credit card payment. Must be 19+, be friendly, outgoing, patient, detailed and have some cashier experience an asset.
+ Guest Services, Bike Coral and ID Checkers
You are the important first (and last) impression of Ribfest! Greeters welcome guests to the Ribfest, give directions and answer questions. If guests arrive on bikes, they are directed to the Bike Coral area where they can leave their bikes in a safe area until they leave the site. Greeters will also check ID and handing out wristbands to visitors to purchase liquor on-site. Must be 19+ for this position.
One of the busiest and happiest places on site! Kidzone volunteers will interact with the children, playing games, face painting, assist with games and crafts. Ages 13 to 17 with Supervision and 18+ will require a Personal Information Check from the RCMP.
Selling 50/50 tickets throughout the Ribfest site. You’ll be provided 50/50 tickets and a float. The 50/50 draw will be held on Sunday afternoon. Must be 19+ to sell raffle tickets.
Volunteers needed as Stage Hands to assist the Stage Manager and entertainers. Minimum age requirement is 15 years old.
